| Additional Information |
| British PSYOP leaflet used on Operation Bracken when the Black Watch controversially deployed north from Basra in November 2004. The leaflets have a picture of British troops on one side and on the reverse Arabic text saying that the British are there to keep the peace and mean no harm to the Iraqi population. The Scottish tartan was emphasised on the borders of the leaflets to distance the Black Watch from the US troops by giving the message that the Scottish were very similar to the Arabs in that they lived in a clan type society. The leaflet is believed to be a handout rather than air-dropped. For more information see here. |
